May 21, 2011: End of the world?

Harold Camping delivering his doomsday prediction
Ok, so I was just browsing along the internet as this stunning article stopped me. The article was from March 2011 but I find it interesting because today is May 20, 2011 and I just stumbled upon this article today. The preacher's name is Harold Camping. He is proclaiming that the world will end in May 21st at around 6pm. Here's an excerpt from the article:

He says the world will end on 21 May, because that will be 722,500 days from 1 April AD33, which he believes was the day of the Crucifixion. The figure of 722,500 is important because you get it by mu
ltiplying three holy numbers (five, 10 and 17) together twice. "When I found this out, I tell you, it blew my mind," he said. Recent events, such as earthquakes in Japan, New Zealand and Haiti, are harbingers of impending doom, he says, as are changing social values. "All the stealing, and the lying, and the wickedness and the sexual perversion that is going on in society is telling us something," he says. "So too is the gay pride movement. It was sent by God as a sign of the end."

Well, to tell you the truth, this is not his first prediction of the Second coming of Christ. On 6th of September 1994, hundreds of his followers gathered at an auditorium in Alameda looking forward for the coming of Christ.

In my opinion, I do not believe that May 21st is the end of the world. No one and I mean NO ONE in this world could ever predict anything even the date and time of the Judgement Day. The bible says:

Isaiah 55:8 (New International Version)

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”                                                                             declares the LORD.
The Second coming of Christ is written in the book of revelations. In which some parts of it are happening now. Jesus Christ himself described it in the book of Matthew how the end of the world will be.

Matthew 24:1-14 (New International Version)

Matthew 24

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times
1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Matthew 24:29-31 (New International Version)

29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
   “‘the sun will be darkened,
   and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[a]
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[b]will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.[c] 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Instead of fearing about the end of the world, just be excited!

Why? Because:
  • of the JOY of seeing Jesus Christ himself!
  • of the END that refers to the world and all of its suffering!
  • of the DEFEAT of Satan and his evil forces!
  • we will be with Him FOREVER!
  • we will have BONUSES which refers to our eternal rewards!
  • we will have the chance to live at a PARADISE, the most beautiful scene you could ever think of!
So be super duper excited! It's maximum excitement NOW!
